Abstract(s)
O presente relatório visa documentar o processo de estágio académico de índole profissional realizado na empresa Original Spot Design (OSD), tendo como base de trabalho o processo investigativo na área do Design de Mobiliário e Equipamento, com o objetivo de cumprir os requisitos necessários à obtenção do grau de Mestre em Design de Produto pela Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Lisboa.
O objeto de estudo da investigação debruça-se, em particular, sobre os processos de desenvolvimento de projeto de Design de Mobiliário e a sua produção em lote (Groover, 1987).
O grande objetivo desta investigação foi avaliar como pode o Design contribuir positivamente para os processos de desenvolvimento de projeto e consequente para uma produção mais eficaz num ambiente profissional.
Desde cedo os designers perceberam a importância de intervir em todo o processo de desenvolvimento de produtos, incluindo nos processos de produção. Com um mercado cada vez mais exigente e competitivo, existe uma necessidade de gerir de forma mais eficiente os recursos disponíveis nas empresas. Mas muitas vezes a relação entre a Design e produção não é próxima e, nesse sentido, a mestranda procurou investigar e trabalhar em formas de ultrapassar esta dificuldade.
Para tal foram aprofundados conhecimentos literários ao nível da interação entre o Design e a Industria, o Design e o Mercado, identificando possíveis pontos de partida onde o Design pode contribuir para tornar o seu trabalho de projeto mais eficiente, mas também o do técnico de produção, possibilitando à empresa otimizar e gerir da melhor forma esta relação entre os seus recursos.
A investigação seguiu uma metodologia de natureza mista de base qualitativa, com metodologias intervencionistas e não intervencionistas, com maior presença da investigação ativa que decorreu durante o período de estágio na empresa Original Spot Design, tendo como suporte metodologias não intervencionistas como a pesquisa, a crítica da literatura, e a observação direta.
Este documento visa refletir todo o processo investigativo deste estágio e os demais contributos para o crescimento da mestranda como profissional e para o campo do Design.
ABSTRACT: The present study aims to document the internship at the company Original Spot Design, based on an investigation process focused on Furniture and Product Design, with the objective of fulfilling the requirements to obtain a Master’s Degree in Product Design by Faculdade de Arquitetura, Universidade de Lisboa. The research focuses on the production management processes in Design companies, investigating the possibility of Design activities to positively contribute to a more efficient and fluid production process in professional environments. Since the early days designers have realized the importance of intervening in the production management and in an increasingly demanding market, it is fundamentally important to manage the company’s resources efficiently. Often the relationship between Production processes and Design is not the most harmonious and in this sense the researcher actively pursued ways to solve this problem. For this purpose, the researcher tried to deepen her knowledge in the interaction between Design and Industry and Design and Market, identifying possible starting points in which Designer can contribute to improve overall efficiency in design and production activities, allowing companies to optimize processes and improve the management of its resources. The research work follows a mixed methodology of qualitative basis, with interventionist and non-interventionist methodologies. With a greater presence of active research which took place during the internship period, supported by non-interventionist methodologies such as research, literature critique, direct observation and interviews. The purpose of this report is to document all the research process developed in the internship as well as contribute to the professional growth of the researcher and of the design field in general.
