O estudo que aqui se apresenta constitui a tese final do Mestrado em Geografia Física e Ordenamento do Território. Foi realizado com a finalidade de avaliar e interpretar geomorfologicamente o geopatrimónio visível a partir do troço Praia da Adraga-Praia de Magoito da Grande Rota 11-E9 Caminho do Atlântico , no concelho de Sintra. A articulação criada entre a interpretação do geopatrimónio e a actividade multidisciplinar que é o pedestrianismo, levou à exploração de conceitos como geossítios, geopaisagens, geoconservação e geoturismo. A análise bibliográfica, o trabalho de campo, a exploração de cartografia digital e os conhecimentos técnicos de pedestrianismo foram essenciais para o desenvolvimento deste projecto. O geopatrimónio avaliado segundo o método proposto por Pereira (2006), foi seleccionado com base em trabalho de campo e preenchimento de fichas de avaliação de potenciais locais de interesse geomorfológico. A interpretação do geopatrimónio encontra-se conjugada com a descrição do troço estudado da GR® 11-E9 de modo a facilitar a sua utilização pelos pedestrianistas.
The study presented here is the final thesis for the MSc in Physical Geography and Planning. It was conducted in order to evaluate and interpret in a geomorphological view of the geoheritage visible from the section Adraga Beach-Beach Magoito of the Long Distance Path 11-E9 "Atlantic coast path , in the municipality of Sintra. The joint venture between the interpretation of geoheritage and a multidisciplinary activity like hiking, led to exploration of concepts such as geological features, geolandscapes, geoconservation and geotourism. The literature review, field work, use of digital mapping and expertise of hiking were essential to the development of this project. The geoheritage, assessed by the method proposed by Pereira (2006), was selected based on field work and the filling of evaluation forms of potential sites with geomorphological interest. The interpretation of geoheritage is combined with the description of the studied section of the GR® 11-E9 in order to facilitate its use by walkers.
