This investigation intends to study the relationship between coparenting and resilience, as well as the possible differences in their behavior in a sample of Portuguese couples and other of immigrant couples, both of low socio-economic level and of same dimension (N=30). It also pretends to analyze the possible influence of socio-demographic factors, sex and religiosity, on the referred variables. Therefore, the Coparenting Questionnaire (Margolin, Gordis & John, 2001) and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (Connor & Davidson, 2003) were applied and it was made an interview to one of the immigrant couples, using Appreciative Inquiry method. As a supplement to the results, it was performed a comparative mini study between this one and another similar sample (N=60), of medium-high/high socioeconomic level, which has revealed significant differences for both variables coparenting and resilience. The results of this research show a moderate relation between variables, confirming the set of five and three factors, respectively to coparenting and resilience, with moderate correlations between some factors. There seem to be no differences between the populations. Religiosity seams to influence both coparenting and resilience, in that last one in conjunction with the type of couple, with immigrants‟ levels of religiosity significantly higher than the Portuguese. Limitations, intervention implications and research suggestions are discussed.
