Resumo(s)
A desvalorização, despovoamento e consequente abandono de localidades remotas é um problema crescente nos
últimos anos. Esta conjuntura resulta em diversos espaços desabitados e devolutos, com valor e potencial para novos usos.
Incluída nesta problemática insere-se a aldeia de Barragem (antiga localidade operária, que durante vários anos
albergou os funcionários responsáveis pela manutenção da Barragem de Pracana), que se encontra atualmente deserta,
com os seus edifícios vandalizados ou em ruína.
Mediante uma reflexão sobre lugares esquecidos como espaços de oportunidade; e através de uma investigação
sobre valores como paisagem, percursos e observação, esta tese propõe “novo olhar”, com uma diferente abordagem sobre
esta aldeia.
A análise e interpretação serão também expressas na componente prática do trabalho. Com maior incidência
sobre Barragem, será projetado um edificado de apoio aos utilizadores dos trilhos pedestres, observadores de animais e da
paisagem envolvente. A construção realizar-se-á através da reabilitação de preexistências e introdução de novos elementos
integrados no lugar. Neste sentido, a proposta abrange também pontos considerados relevantes para a região, integrados
em percursos pedonais convergentes num mesmo ponto, a aldeia.
ABSTRACT: The devaluation, depopulation and consequent abandonment of remote places is a growing issue in recent years. This crisis originates several uninhabited and unoccupied spaces, with value and potential for new uses. Included in this scenario, located in the village of Barragem (an old town that was the home for many workers of the Pracana’s Dam), that became a “ghost town”, totally deserted, abandoned and vandalized.. Through a reflection about forgotten places (and how they can become opportunities); and with an investigation concerning values like the landscape, routes and observation spots, this thesis explore a new point of view about how to approach a village like Barragem. The analysis and interpretation will be expressed in the practical component of the work. With a major influence in Barragem: a group of buildings will be designed to support users of pedestrian trails, animal observers and the surrounding landscape. The construction will be carried out through the rehabilitation of pre-existing buildings and the introduction of new elements integrated into the place. In this sense, the proposal also covers the points considered relevant for the region, integrated in pedestrian paths that converge at the same point, the village.
