Abstract(s)
The following project developed for the Masters in Drawing involves the making of digital illustrations of different bird species that embody the ecosystem of the protected zone of Lagoa Pequena, Sesimbra, Portugal, responsible for the important role of multiple birds’ circulation in the biggest humid zone of Setúbal’s Peninsula. This project aimed to aid this space through a library of images available for usage in multiple media formats according to their needs, by creating scientific illustrations during the academic year of 2023/2024. This presentation starts with an introduction to the project, where it’s outlined the motivations for its making, methodologies applied and its respective historical and thematic framework, followed by a chapter dedicated to the base toponymy of the Bird-class – with the Passerines as the primary model – where its explored the different taxa and morphology variations present in the proposed species, concluded with the presentation of the results, describing all the process behind the making of the illustrations, techniques used, possible communication and dissemination supports and final considerations.
