Resumo(s)

Web accessibility has become an increasingly important practice over the years. However, its current state remains far from meeting today’s standards. Nearly one-sixth of the world’s population lives with some kind of disability, and the likelihood of experiencing disability increases with age. To ensure the inclusion of all individuals in modern society, websites must be accessible, meaning they should provide equitable ways for everyone to interact with their content. Furthermore, recent regulations have reinforced the need for websites to comply with established accessibility standards. This work presents the design and implementation of an open-sourceWeb accessibility dashboard, a data visualization tool to addresses the cost barriers posed by existing commercial solutions. The dashboard supports ongoing Web accessibility monitoring, enabling users to track the accessibility of their websites over time. It leverages QualWeb, an open-source Web accessibility evaluation engine, as its data source. Through comprehensive requirement analysis, 37 features were identified and prioritized in a five to one scale, with the Minimum Viable Product implementing all priority five and four features. The system offers support for ACT-Rules, WCAG Techniques, and ARIA, with filtering capabilities by compliance level, state, and guidelines. Key features include multiple website monitoring, automated scan scheduling, issues visual representation, code snippets and location, evaluation history, and comparison of evaluations from different dates with interactive charts showing accessibility trends over time. User evaluation with three participants representing diverse professional contexts revealed high satisfaction and willingness to adopt the tool. These interviews were also important because they will help guide future developments based on participants’ suggestions for enhanced functionality. The proposed dashboard aims to help organizations not only meet legal compliance but also promote inclusive digital practices.
