| dc.description.abstract | A Internet é uma ferramenta revolucionária que surgiu no último século e alterou de forma drástica o modo como a nossa vida decorre, sendo utilizada para satisfazer diversas necessidades da vida de cada individuo em diferentes esferas da sua atividade (lazer, trabalho, estudo). Apesar da utilização benigna da Internet ser generalizada, há, contudo, algumas pessoas que acabam por desenvolver comportamentos problemáticos com impacto na sua vida. A Adição à Internet (AI) é caracterizada por uma preocupação excessiva relativamente à Internet que origina um compromisso ou prejuízo da vida pessoal, familiar e social. Trata-se de uma entidade que tem, nos últimos anos, despertado um interesse cada vez maior da comunidade científica. Em linha com esta realidade, o número de artigos, a nível internacional, publicados relativos à Adição à Internet tem sido crescente o que realça a contemporaneidade do tema. Contudo, no seio da comunidade cientifica, ainda se debate sobre se a AI deverá ou não ser incluída na International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) e no Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) , à semelhança do que acontece com a Perturbação de Jogo Online, uma vez que ainda não existem linhas orientadoras consistentes quanto ao diagnóstico, linhas de abordagem clinica e terapêutica. Esta revisão sistemática da bibliografia pretende apresentar uma visão geral do conhecimento científico relativo às diferentes vertentes da AI: pontos de maior relevância e de maior debate, e a sua importância no contexto da especialidade de Psiquiatria. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The Internet is a revolutionary tool that emerged in the last century and has dramatically changed the way our lives run. Nowadays it is being used to satisfy various needs in the life of everyone in its different domains of activity (leisure, work, study). Although the benign use of the Internet is common, there are, however, some people who end up developing problematic behaviors that impact their lives. Internet Addiction (IA) is characterized by an excessive concern about the Internet that causes a compromise or loss in the personal life, with consequences for the individual. It is an entity that has, in recent years, emerged and has aroused an increasing interest from the scientific community. In line with this reality, the number of articles published internationally on Internet Addiction has been increasing, which highlights the contemporary nature of the topic. However, within the scientific community, there is still a debate about whether IA should be included in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) and in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) , similarly to Internet Gaming Disorder, since there is still uncertainty regarding its concept, diagnosis ,clinical and therapeutic approach, which still remain unclear. This review of the bibliography aims to present an overview of the scientific knowledge regarding the different aspects of IA: the points of greatest relevance and greatest debate, and its importance in the context of the field of Psychiatry. | pt_PT |
