The Marrakech-Safí Earthquake (8 September 2023) destroyed houses and took people with it, bringing with it a need to urgently shelter the population. In a first approach, people were sheltered in tents, while the damage caused was analyzed and attempts were made to save lives. Al Haouz province, in the Atlas Mountains region, is one of the most affected areas. This circumscribes some extremely ancient sites, respectively Amazigh villages that date back centuries, partially materializing as Morocco’s cultural heritage. Recognized as an integral part of civilization and territory, due to their historical-cultural relevance, these places are seriously damaged. Therefore, its recovery requires an approach that respects and preserves this heritage, adopting carefully planned and sensitive methods. The misuse of “modern” materials such as concrete, compared to the raw earth used previously, caused the damage to be greater. It was observed that in these Amazigh villages, which are located approximately 30km from the center of Marrakech, there is a shortage of health care that is part of basic human being units, and that in the context of a catastrophe it would have greatly helped the population In this sense, this master’s degree proposal proposes the creation of a family health unit, to provide basic care for the population. Adding to the proposal, we seek not only to meet the most basic needs of human beings, but also to promote sustainable infrastructure and means while respecting local identity and heritage.
