| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho debruça-se sobre os nexos que se estabelecem entre a arquitectura e as suas representações, numa perspectiva histórica, teórica e operativa. Procurando lidar com a abundância e com a influência das representações de arquitectura, a produção desta dissertação visa um entendimento esclarecido das diferenças que existem entre as diversas disciplinas que tratam a representação da arquitectura e entre estas e a própria arquitectura. Pondera-se ainda, ao discernir algumas características das diferentes áreas disciplinares (do desenho, da fotografia e do vídeo essencialmente)em contraponto com o objecto da representação (a arquitectura), as consequências da sua interacção. Faz-se assim, em primeiro lugar, uma abordagem histórica dos processos de representação ancorada no Renascimento, com o intuito de contextualizar a condição contemporânea da cultura arquitectónica. Seguidamente é feita uma reflexão sobre as possibilidades e sobre as consequências do comprometimento profundo entre a sociedade do século XX e os processos de mediatização. São depois objectivados os nexos que se estabelecem entre representação e representado. Para isso analisam-se diversos casos de estudo que possibilitam concretizar algumas características dos processos de representação. Por último, é também objectivo deste ensaio conseguir traçar hipóteses de relacionamento com as representações de arquitectura, numa perspectiva optimista. Sintetizando, esta reflexão pretende, consciente da influência que o meio tem no seu fim enquanto parte de um todo processual, fazer uma introdução às diversas formas de relação entre a arquitectura e as suas representações. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT - This work addresses the relations between architecture and its representations, in na historical, theoretical and practical perspective. While trying to deal with the abundance and different influences of the architectural representations, drafting this essay was na attempt to obtain an enlightened understanding of the differences that exist between the several disciplines that represent architecture and between such representations and architecture itself. It was also taken in consideration, while trying to identify some of the features of the several disciplines (drawing, photography and video essentially) in contrast with the object of the representation (architecture), the consequences of their interaction. Firstly, an historical approach is made to the processes of representation starting from the renaissance, with the aim of contextualizing the contemporaneous condition of the architectural culture. Afterwards, a reflection is made about the possibilities and consequences of the profound media coverage that goes through the whole twentieth century. It’s then attempted to identity the relations that are established between representation and the object of such representation. With this purpose some case studies are then analyzed in order to enable the identification of some of the characteristics of the representation process. Finally it is also an aim of this essay to try to reflect on the ways to deal with architectural representations, in an optimistic perspective. Synthesizing, this research envisages, while taking into account the influence that the mean has in its end as part of a whole process, to make an introduction to the several ways of relation between architecture and its representations. | |
