A indústria da moda tem testemunhado um ressurgimento do interesse no artesanato, onde marcas renomadas vão buscar uma fusão entre técnicas tradicionais e contemporâneas para criar produtos únicos e sustentáveis. Nesta dissertação é feita uma investigação do papel do artesanato na moda contemporânea, focado especificamente na experiência de estágio na marca Elementum.
O estágio proporcionou uma imersão no universo de uma marca que aplica o artesanato à moda, revendo a importância da preservação das técnicas tradicionais num contexto de produção semi-industrial. A observação direta e participação ativa no processo de criação das peças ofereceu uma compreensão aprofundada das complexidades envolvidas na integração do artesanato na produção em massa.
Este estudo discute a relevância do artesanato na diferenciação de produtos, na sustentabilidade e na valorização da herança cultural. Além disso, explora os desafios e oportunidade enfrentados pela marca By Vouzela que busca incorporar a técnica da tecelagem na sua linha de produção.
Esta dissertação destaca a importância do artesanato na moda, não apenas como uma tendência, mas como um elemento fundamental na evolução da indústria ruma a práticas mais éticas, sustentáveis e culturalmente enriquecedoras.
The fashion industry has witnessed a resurgence of interest in craftsmanship, where brands seek a fusion between traditional and contemporary techniques to create unique and sustainable products. This dissertation investigates the role of craftsmanship in contemporary fashion, specifically focusing on the internship experience at the Elementum brand. The internship provided an immersion in the universe of a brand that applies craftsmanship to fashion, emphasizing the importance of preserving traditional techniques in a semi-industrial production context. Direct observation and active participation in the creation process offered a deep understanding of the complexities involved in integrating craftsmanship into mass production. This study discusses the relevance of craftsmanship in product differentiation, sustainability and the appreciation of cultural heritage. Additionally, it explores the challenges and opportunities faced by the By Vouzela brand in incorporating weaving techniques into its production line. This dissertation highlights the importance of craftsmanship in fashion, not just as a trend but as a fundamental element in the industry’s evolution towards more ethical, sustainable and culturally enriching practices.
