The current labor panorama that we live in is increasingly competitive, and its human capital is more conscious of its needs. As such, organizations have felt the need to start looking for new approaches of management and leadership to meet the development needs of employees and organizations. An essential tool for this is coaching. The concept of coaching is broad and there are several definitions for it, however, it most refers to the ultimate goal of promoting effectiveness through interventions focused on individuals and/or teams as a whole, and these can arise in the organizational setting in the forms of executive coaching, leadership coaching, peer coaching and or management, and may be more or less firm depending on the context. Thus, this work refers to an analysis of the scientific production carried out in the last decade about coaching and its contribution to organizational performance. The present work will allow not only to understand of the evolution of the coaching concept but also its increasing applicability in the effectiveness of the organization performance. Also, it will allow us to understand the space left for improvement in the scope of coaching, which despite having the support of the literature we still can verify a significant gap regarding its impacts.
