Abstract(s)
O estudo das empresas familiares iniciou-se nos anos sessenta e setenta e, desde essa altura tem vindo a ser sucessivamente desenvolvido. De facto, as empresas familiares ocupam, hoje em dia, um papel extremamente importante na economia global, sendo que entre 65% e 80% das empresas a nível mundial são familiares. Por conseguinte, denota-se a importância de abordar este tema num contexto de Gestão de Recursos Humanos, uma vez que a presença de empresas familiares é tão significativa, tanto a nível nacional como internacional. Assim, este estudo pretende fornecer um enquadramento do que se entende por empresa familiar, assim como os aspectos que a caracterizam. Inserido neste tema, será analisado concretamente o processo de sucessão nestas empresas, pois constitui um dos factores mais relevantes para o sucesso e continuidade deste tipo de organizações. Por último, e no que respeita à Gestão de Recursos Humanos, será relacionado o tema da sucessão com as competências requeridas aos respectivos sucessores. Para tal estudo foram analisadas empresas familiares de pequena dimensão em Portugal.
The study of family businesses started in the sixties and seventies, and since then has been successively developed. Indeed, family businesses occupy today, an extremely important role in the global economy, with between 65% and 80% of businesses worldwide are family. Therefore, there is the importance of addressing this issue in the context of Human Resource Management, since the presence of family businesses is so significant, both nationally and internationally. Thus, this study aims to provide a framework of what is meant by family business and the aspects that characterize. Inside this issue will be discussed specifically the process of succession in these firms, it represents one of the most important factors for success and continuity of such organizations. Finally, with regard to the Human Resources Management, is the related issue of succession with the skills required for their successors. Were analyzed for this study include small family businesses in Portugal.
