Introduction: The dentist is guided to promote the tooth preservation. However, despite the great increase of the children and adolescents oral health care, tooth extractions are often inevitable. Children and adolescents’ oral lesions have a large variety and prevalence, depending on the type of study. These data show the importance of the knowledge about this type of lesions to an accurate diagnosis and an appropriate treatment. Purpose: To characterize a range of pediatric patients’ cases, the appointment type, the appointment reason and the procedure performed. Study design: An epidemiological descriptive observational study, with pediatric patients that attended to the appointment of Oral Surgery and Medicine Clinic, at Faculdade de Medicina Dentária da Universidade de Lisboa it was conducted. 175 patients were included and the data related to the gender, age, appointment type, procedure performed and diagnosis were recorded. The data analysis was performed with the IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program. Results: The patients are mainly girls. Between 1 and 15 years old exist 65 patients and between 16 and 17 years old exist 65 patients too. 45 patients are 18 years old. The Oral Surgery appointment was the type of appointment that received the greatest number of patients and the major performed procedure was tooth extraction, due to tooth decay or its sequels. At the Oral Medicine appointment 20 lesions were diagnosed and the mucocele was the most common one. This study doesn’t have any relationship with statistical significance. Discussion: The primary second molar and the definitive first and third molars were the most removed tooth and the mucocele was the most prevalent lesion, as in the literature. Conclusion: The tooth extraction was the most common procedure and the mucocele was the most frequent lesion.
