The article presents reflections on a good experience lived while building a rustic kiln for ceramic firing with small children 4 to 8 years in a public school in São João del Rei, Minas Gerais, Brazil. We report the experience from the concept 'flow' (flow), Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi, analyzing the motivations of the student and his creation; criteria established by the internal guide the student, according Fayga Ostrower and supported parameters in human development and their relationship with art, established by Howard Gardner
