| dc.description.abstract | A pandemia “COVID-19” trouxe muitas mudanças ao quotidiano das pessoas, nomeadamente aos seus dois principais contextos de vida, familiar e laboral. Assim, é importante conhecer a realidade atual dos casais com filhos menores, incluindo os seus desafios e os recursos que ajudam a lidar e a atenuar as dificuldades vivenciadas. O principal objetivo deste estudo foi examinar as associações entre a segmentação das fronteiras trabalho/família e os rituais familiares em indivíduos casados. Participaram neste estudo 509 indivíduos (72.7% eram do sexo feminino), com idades entre os 19 e os 56 anos (M = 39.94; DP = 7.10) e com pelo menos um/a filho/a até aos 18 anos. Foram aplicadas as versões portuguesas da Escala de Segmentação/Integração (Chambel & Carvalho, 2017; Powell & Greenhaus, 2010) para avaliar se os participantes optavam pela segmentação das fronteiras trabalho/família e do Questionário de Rituais Familiares (Crespo & Lind, 2004; Fiese & Kline, 1993), para avaliar o significado dos rituais familiares. Realizaram-se análises de variância multivariada para comparar as diferenças de médias entre sexos para as variáveis dependentes em estudo. De seguida procedeu-se a uma análise das correlações entre as principais variáveis em estudo (segmentação família/trabalho, segmentação trabalho/família, rituais no contexto das comemorações anuais e da hora de jantar) e, finalmente ao teste da moderação do sexo na associação entre segmentação dos domínios família/trabalho e rituais familiares. Os resultados demonstraram não existirem diferenças significativas ente homens e mulheres relativamente à segmentação e aos rituais familiares. Para além disto, não se verificaram correlações significativas entre a segmentação (família/trabalho e trabalho/família) e os rituais. Testou-se e verificou-se o efeito moderador do sexo na relação entre a segmentação família/trabalho e as comemorações. | dc.description.abstract | The “COVID 19” pandemic brought many changes to people's daily lives, particular ly in their two main life contexts family and work. Therefore, it is important to understand the current reality of couples with young children, including their challenges and the resources that help to cope with and mitigate the difficulties experienced. The main objective of this study w as to examine the associations between the segmentation of work/family boundaries and family rituals in married individuals. A total of 509 individuals participated in this study (72.7% were female), aged between 19 and 56 years ( M = 39.94; SD = 7.10) and with at least one child under 18 years old . The Portuguese versions of the Segmentation/Integration Scale (Chambel & Carvalho, 2017; Powell & Greenhaus, 2010) were applied to assess whether participants chose to segment work/family boundaries and the Famil y Rituals Questionnaire (Crespo & Lind, 2004; Fiese & Kline, 1993) was used to assess the meaning of family rituals. Multivariate analysis of variance were c onducted to compare mean differences according to sex for the dependent variables under study . Subs equently we performed an analysis of the correlations between the main study variables (family/work segmentation, work/family segmentation, rituals in annual celebrations and during dinner time ) and, we tested the moderating role of sex in the as sociation between segmentation of the family/work domains and family rituals. The results showed that there were no significant differences between men and women regarding family segmentation and rituals. Furthermore, there were no significant correlations between segmentation (family/work and work/family) and rituals. The moderating effect on the relationship between family/work segmentation and celebrations was tested and verified.
