Resumo(s)
The dissertation for the master degree in museology and museography here presented is intended to contribute as the bases for a proposal of a museal action in senior education context, considering the current national and international museum scenery. It’s a case study that analyses the relation between museums and their senior community, evaluating in situ residents of a geographical area, the district of Cascais, and a museum, the House of Stories Paula Rego. In understanding this context we will seek to present new solutions that enable a cultural mediation promoter of an active aging, and a closer relationship between museum and community. The museum reveals itself as a space promoter of cultural autonomy opening the way for other realities outside their walls
