O presente Projeto Final de Mestrado tem como propósito a criação de um equipamento de cariz cultural e coletivo na freguesia de Marvila.
A área envolvente ao lote a intervir é marcada por uma paisagem de carácter industrial onde ainda é comum avistar grandes chaminés e armazéns. A presença das linhas de comboio – a linha de Cintura e a linha de Sintra, permitiram o contacto de Marvila com a restante cidade de Lisboa, mas fez com que o território se fragmentasse criando duas “Marvilas” distintas: uma “Marvila velha” à beira rio e uma Marvila mais moderna, mas descaracterizada. Ainda é uma área da cidade um pouco esquecida apresentando uma população maioritariamente envelhecida muito propícia ao isolamento social, algo que deve de ser combatido.
A implementação de um Equipamento Cultural pretende dar resposta a alguns destes problemas apresentados que afetam a comunidade da freguesia. Procura ser um espaço que tem como objetivo revitalizar Marvila, funcionando como um ponto de encontro entre variadas culturas e gerações, onde a convivência entre os habitantes de toda a comunidade, troca de conhecimento e vivências são pretendidas - um centro de reunião intergeracional.
O Projeto Final de Mestrado divide-se em duas partes. A primeira de caráter teórico que permitiu adquirir e aprofundar temáticas de forma a desenvolver uma proposta prática mais indicada às necessidades do local e dos seus habitantes, temas esses: Reabilitação, Conservação e Restauro, Perceção do Espaço incidindo sobre a Luz, Cor e Matéria e, também, Património Industrial.Na componente prática, insere-se o estudo de diversos exemplos práticos da Arquitetura a ter em conta, de modo a alcançar a melhor solução de projeto. Foi também desenvolvida uma análise aprofundada da freguesia de Marvila de modo a perceber as suas mudanças morfológicas e socias e, de seguida, a descrição detalhada do projeto elaborado com o processo de trabalho anexado.
ABSTRACT: This present Mater’s Final Project aims to create a cultural and collective equipment in the parish of Marvila. The surrounding area of the intervening plot is marked by an industrial landscape where it still common to see large chimneys and warehouses. The presence of the railway line – the Cintura line and the Sintra line, allowed Marvila to connect with the rest of the city of Lisbon, but caused the territory to fragment into two distinguished “Marvilas”: an “old Marvila” by the river side and a more modern but uncharacterized Marvila. It is still a somewhat forgotten area of the city with a mostly aged population very prone to social isolation, something that must be fought. The implementation of a Cultural Equipment intends to answer some of these problems that affect the parish community. It seeks to become a place that aims to revitalize Marvila, functioning as a meeting point between various cultures and generations, where the coexistence between the inhabitants of the entire community, the exchange of knowledge and life experiences are intended. The Master’s Final Project is divided into two parts. The first of a theoretical nature allowed the acquisition and deepening of themes in order to develop a practical proposal best suited to the need of the place and its inhabitants, themes such as Rehabilitation, Conservation and Restoration, Space Perception focusing on Light, Color and Matter, and Industrial Heritage. The practical component includes the study of several practical examples of architecture to be considered in order to achieve the best design solution. An in-depth analysis of the parish of Marvila was also developed in order to understand its morphological and social changes, and the detailed description of the project elaborated, with the work process attached.
