Perante a temática da Adopção, pretendemos, na presente dissertação, estudar a influência da comunicação sobre a adopção na qualidade da integração das famílias adoptivas, considerando o tipo de adaptação dos pais e dos filhos e o estado emocional de ambos relativamente à sua situação familiar, assim como o processo de comunicação sobre a mesma.
O estudo exploratório foi realizado com uma amostra de 12 casais adoptantes e 2 adoptantes singulares. Realizámos uma entrevista semi-estruturada, com posterior análise dos dados com recurso ao programa NVivo8.
Os resultados encontrados apontam para uma comunicação aberta entre pais adoptantes e filhos adoptivos, assim como um marcado sentido de pertença nestas famílias. São apontadas algumas limitações a este estudo e lançam-se sugestões para futuras investigações.
Given the theme of adoption, it is the intent of this essay to study the influence of communication on the quality of integration in adoptive families, taking into account the adaptation of parents and children and the emotional state of both in relation to their family situation, as well as the process of communication over the same. The exploratory study was composed by a sample of 12 adoptive couples and 2 single adoptive parents. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, with a later analysis of the data using the NVivo8 Software. The results point towards the existence of an open communication between adoptive parents and adopted children, as well as a strong sense of belonging to these families. Some limitations in this study were noticed, and future inquiries are suggested.
