The Final Master’s Project to obtain the Master’s Degree in Architecture is a continuation of all the content developed in the discipline of Project Laboratory VI. Based on the Integrated Project Program III, Class B, “The Stone Raft” the objective was to developed Cost.Controlled Housing to combat Lisbon’s current housing crisis. With this, the Final Master’s Project take Algés as its area of intervention, proposing the creation of cost-controlled housing, together with other types of buildings through a sustainable and carbon-neutral perspective. Cost-Controlled Housing represents a crucial response to contemporary urban challenges, meeting basic shelter needs. When designing cost-controlled housing spaces, it is indisputable to consider harmonious integration with the landscape, was well as the surrounding nature. Understanding water as a natural and symbolic element, it is proposed to resume its presence in public and collective spaces, assuming that it assumes a regenerative role in social and human relations. This hypothesis translates into the project of a collective housing building for students, young workers, and the elderly, promoting social integration, articulating public equipment and services, sustainable and carbon neutral.
