For many decades sport has been an increasingly relevant area for society and the daily lives of all citizens, one of the main reasons being the benefits it brings to health and mind. In this way, sports have evolved immensely, increasing the number of participants and fans around the world, and have also become a business in many ways. The local authorities, realizing this constant growth and importance given to sport and in parallel, the aspect of sports management (DG) to accompany it, it was essential to start to give more value to municipal sport and to develop it to meet the sporting needs of citizens and specially to provide conditions for citizens to practice physical activity and a more active life. Since City Councils are the entities closest to the population and that have the focus on it. Thus, it is perceptible the importance of local authorities in the development of sports and one of the reasons why I chose to do my internship in the Hall City of Moita (CMM), in the Sports and Youth Division (DDJ), but also due to the interest I have always had in the management of sports equipment and facilities, sporting events and initiatives aimed at the whole community. This curricular internship (CE) was developed within the scope of the master’s degree in Sports Management at the Faculdade de Motricidade Humana (FMH) and was intended to enable the acquisition of knowledge and skills specifically in the area of municipal sports management, to experience professional life and also to have space to put into practice what was learned in the teaching part of the master’s degree. In this way, this report is a portrait of all the work developed and the tasks performed during the curricular internship, describing them and the way I contributed, as well as a reflection on the benefits of the internship and the growth it made possible.
