This work aims to study Crowdfunding through the perspective of the Financial Institution's employee in Portugal, in order to assess his potential as a crowdfunder and his drivers for the decision-making process and motivations for project financing. After the presentation, analysis and structuring of the theoretical framework, nine questions were raised for further investigation. An exploratory study was conducted, with data collection via on-line questionnaire. It took into account the feedback from employees of a financial institution operating in Portugal. It was concluded that the Financial Institutions employees, of the studed sample, are more likely to choose financial reward-based projects. For the potential crowdfunder, the motivations are intrinsic in nature, however, some indifference towards donation-based projects was demonstrated. Additionally, it was concluded that crowdfunders see themselves as fundamental on the start-up phase of a project and they demonstrate interest in accompanying it until its conclusion. Finally, it was concluded that the quality of the project, the pitch and the design of the crowdfunding platform are the strongest factors that have more influence on the crowdfunders' decisions for the financing of a project.
