As fístulas congénitas aorto-cavas são bastante raras. Neste artigo descrevemos um caso clínico de uma mulher de 45 anos de idade, que se apresentou com insuficiência cardíaca direita e um sopro contínuo devido a um shunt extracardíaco esquerdodireito, secundário a uma fístula congénita entre seio de valsava aórtico direito e a veia cava superior. A fístula foi encerrada cirurgicamente e a doente teve uma evolução clínica favorável.
Congenital aorto-caval fistulas are very rare. We report a case of a 45 year old woman who presented with right-sided heart failure and a continuous murmur due to an extracardiac left to right shunt, secondary to a congenital fistula between the aortic right sinus of Valsalva and the superior vena cava. The fistula was closed surgically and the patient had a favourable outcome.
