Este relatório de estágio tem como objetivo apresentar uma análise sobre os arquivos pessoais e os arquivos de família, no contexto do Arquivo Histórico da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa. A investigação centra-se no papel dos Instrumentos de Acesso à Informação como facilitadores na mediação entre os arquivos e os utilizadores.
A literatura apresentada revela que os arquivos não são só coleções de documentos, mas são conjuntos organizados que espelham a trajetória de uma entidade produtora. A organicidade é um conceito importante nesta área, pois podemos perceber como a preservação dos documentos é feita, de modo a manter a sua autenticidade.
Os Instrumentos de Acesso à Informação, como os guias, inventários e catálogos, têm um papel importante na gestão e na recuperação da informação. São estes os instrumentos que permitem que se localize e se compreenda os documentos com mais facilidade.
Durante o estágio realizado no Arquivo Histórico da Faculdade de Letras foi elaborado um Guia de Fundos dos arquivos pessoais e de família, de modo a facilitar o acesso aos ‘espólios’.
