O contexto social e contemporâneo em que nos inserimos impõe uma estrutura objetiva, orientada para a produtividade, estigmatizando as atividades que fujam a esta norma. A brincadeira encontra-se, assim, excluída da vida adulta, não existindo disponibilidade para a mesma. Também a imaginação é alvo desta marginalização, já que se alimenta de atividades não estruturadas e exploratórias. A presente investigação propõe uma associação da brincadeira e da imaginação, explorando a brincadeira open ended tangível enquanto fonte de imaginação para a vida adulta. Existe, assim, uma tentativa de quebrar a objetividade inerente a todas as atividades, sejam profissionais, sejam de lazer, presentes no nosso contexto sociocultural. Como reflexo deste objetivo, propõe-se uma metodologia de criação que cumpra estes pressupostos, inspirando-se nos princípios básicos da brincadeira open ended, a qual é exploratória, construtiva e colaborativa. Sugere-se, assim, uma nova abordagem à investigação no design de interação, pensando o play as an interaction design process, metodologia que na presente investigação se encontra refletida na prática através de design workshops. Espera-se, assim, gerar novo conhecimento através da prática e da reflexão da prática de uma nova abordagem ao processo de design de interação; apresentar uma nova perspetiva sobre a brincadeira open ended, enquanto possibilidade para a vida adulta e para o processo de criação dos designers de interação; e, por fim, influenciar o público adulto a disponibilizar-se para a imaginação e para a imaginação através da brincadeira.
The social and contemporary context in which we operate is oriented towards productivity, creating an environment adverse to activities not compliant with this norm. As such, both play and imagination are stigmatized and excluded from adult life, due to the unstructured and exploratory nature of its associated activities. The present investigation proposes an association of play and imagination, exploring tangible open ended play as a source of imagination for adult life. In an attempt to break the objectivity inherent in all activities, whether professional or recreational, inherent to our socio-cultural context. As a means to this goal, the researcher proposes the creation of a new methodology that fulfills these assumptions, drawing inspiration from the basic principles of open ended play, which is exploratory, constructive and collaborative. Therefore, a new approach to research in interaction design is suggested, regarding play as a possible interaction design process, a methodology that in this investigation is reflected in practice through design workshops. The expected outcomes of this investigation are: To generate new knowledge through practice and reflection on the practice of a new approach to the interaction design process; Present a new perspective on open ended play, as a possibility for the adult market and for interaction designers process; and Influence the adult audience to make themselves available for imagination and imagination through play.
