Resumo(s)
O feminismo, à semelhança da dança moderna, longe de ser uma posição unívoca é um
campo de estudo complexo, plural e não linear. Os conceitos que o estruturam têm
mudado de forma profunda desde a sua origem nas lutas pelo sufrágio feminino até ao
seu estado atual.
Tendo em conta o anterior, o presente escrito pretende fazer uma revisão em paralelo
entre o percurso da dança moderna teatral - principalmente aquela criada nos Estados
Unidos e Europa- e o desenvolvimento do pensamento feminista; as suas relações e
pontos de encontro tanto a nível teórico como no relativo à representação do feminino,
do masculino e das relações entre os dois géneros.
Desta forma, ao longo dos capítulos, serão analisadas, de forma comparativa e crítica,
as diferentes abordagens feministas - feminismo universal, feminismo baseado na
complementaridade entre o homem e a mulher e enfoques pós-estruturalistas- e os
trabalhos coreográficos de múltiplos artistas do século XX.
ABSTRACT: Feminism, likewise modern dance, far from being an univocal position, is a complex study field, plural and nonlinear. Concepts that structure it have changed in a profound way since its beginnings - with the demands for women suffrage - until today´s current situation. Taking the latter into account, the present work, aims at making a parallel study between the development of modern dance – mainly the one created in the United States and Europe - and the development of feminist theories; its relations and points of connection, not only at a theoretical level but also at a representational level, both of the feminine and masculine, and relations between the two genders. Throughout the following chapters, different feminist approaches – universal feminism, feminism based on the complementarity between man and woman, and post structuralist approaches – and the choreographical work of several 20th century artists, will be analysed in a comparative and critical way.
