| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho aborda a temática da ourivesaria religiosa em Portugal, com especial enfoque nas custódias (ou ostensório) realizadas em contexto nacional no decorrer do século XVI. Utilizando determinados casos de estudo como exemplares da arte da ourivesaria da Época Moderna portuguesa, procurar-se-á, reconhecer o carácter híbrido das obras, herdeiro, por um lado, de soluções decorativas do Gótico (soluções que em ainda estariam presentes no Norte da Europa, e do qual provêm inúmeras influências para a arte portuguesa do período em estudo), mas por outro lado, evidenciando as novidades do Renascimento, que vão chegando paulatinamente de Itália. Por isso, assistese, em muitas das peças que ainda hoje subsistem, a magníficas composições híbridas, onde há um miscigenar de vocábulos artísticos díspares. Dito isto, numa descrição minuciosa, cuidada, assente na observação atenta de cada uma das custódias eleitas como caso de estudo, procede-se a um levantamento das suas características, de forma a que, reconhecendo-as, seja possível verificar a existência de diferenças e/ou semelhanças, identificar tipologias formais, elementos decorativos (como os fitomórficos e antropomórficos), procurar significados para estas soluções, ainda possíveis influências, entre outros. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This thesis explores the topic of religious silverware work in Portugal, with a special focus on the monstrance (or ostensory) executed in a Portuguese context in the 16th century. Using some case studies as examples of the art of silver of the Portuguese Modern Period, we will try to recognize it’s hybrid character, heir, on the one hand, of Gothic decorative solutions, (solutions that would still be present in the North of Europe, and from which come countless influences for the Portuguese art of the period in study), but on the other side, highlighting the new innovations of the Renaissance, which are gradually arriving from the Italy. That is why, in many of the silver pieces that still exist today, there are magnificent hybrid compositions, where there is a mixture of different artistic words This being said, in a meticulous and careful description, based on the careful observation of each one of the monstrances elected as a case study, will making a collate of their characteristics, so that, recognizing them, it is possible to verify the existence of differences and/or similarities, identify formal typologies, decorative elements (such as phytomorphic or anthropomorphic), try to discover meanings for these solutions, also possible influences, among others. | pt_PT |
