do 1.º Ciclo Ensino Básico. A amostra incluiu oito turmas (cinco do grupo
alunos.
ABSTRACT : This study, quasi-experimental, intended to analyze Creative Dance as a mean of interdisciplinary learning of the contents in the curricular subject areas and creativity. The goals of the research were: to analyze the impact of creative dance in the learning of the contents of Social Studies, Portuguese, and Mathematics and the influence of dance in the creative attitude in children attending the 2nd grade in the primary education. The sample included eight classes (five from the experimental group and three from the control group), for a total of 117 children. In our methodological proposal we wanted to make an intervention composed of four sessions of creative dance in each disciplinary area in the experimental group. Both groups were evaluated through performance sheets, in three different moments (pre-test, post-test, and retest) and through the test of creativity, in the pre-test and post-tests. Most data were analyzed by using analysis of variance and Student’s t tests for paired samples. The conclusions revealed that the students who consolidated the contents in the creative dance classes have shown significant differences in the learning gains in the disciplinary area of Social Studies, Portuguese, and Mathematics, in comparison with the control group. In what concerns creativity, we concluded that the intervention through creative dance didn’t present any effect on the creative attitude of the students.
