Resumo(s)
Este trabalho consiste em desenvolver um projeto de uma biblioteca pública em um ponto estratégico
em Benfica, tanto pela sua centralidade em relação aos acessos, transportes públicos e privados como
pela centralidade da zona, não só aproveitando o próprio fluxo existente como criando um novo circuito
no bairro e cidade.
Visa ser um atrativo para crianças e adultos, proporcionando também um espaço de encontro, cultura
e lazer para toda a população residente e visitante de Benfica.
Este tema desenvolve-se por não existir uma Biblioteca Municipal em Benfica, havendo alguns pontos
de apoio como a Biblioteca do Palácio Baldaya, que se qualifica mais propriamente como uma biblioteca
de bairro. Tendo em vista a real necessidade de um espaço deste gênero, este trabalho visa apresentar
uma proposta que não só se integre na comunidade existente, como também traga para a comunidade
este novo sentido de biblioteca já aplicado em outros vários sítios. Para tal objetivo, prolonga-se esta
proposta não só para edificação em si, mas também para o aproveitamento do restante do terreno,
trabalhando como uma extensão do espaço criado para a Biblioteca.
Com este trabalho, espera-se promover um ganho expressivo para a cultura, lazer e socialização, além
de transpor uma das principais dificuldades que é aproximar estes edifícios emblemáticos em locais
quotidianos, presentes na vida da comunidade.
ABSTRACT: This work consists of developing a project for a public library at a strategic point in Benfica, both for its location concerning main access, public and private transport and the centrality of the area and not only taking advantage of the existing people flow itself but also creating a new circuit in the area, neighborhood and city. It aims to be an attraction for children and adults, as well as providing a meeting, culture and leisure space for the entire resident and non-resident population of Benfica. This theme is being developed because of the non existance of a Municipal Library in Benfica, where there are some points of support such as the Baldaya Palace Library, which could be more qualified as a neighborhood library. Given the real need for such a space like this, the current paper aims to present a proposal that not only promotes integration with the existing community, but also brings a new sense of library already applied in several other sites. To this end, this proposal extends not only to the building itself, but also to the use of the rest of the land, working as an extension of the space created for the Library. It is expected to promote a significant gain for culture, leisure and socialization, and overcome one of the main difficulties of bringing these emblematic buildings closer to day-to-day places, present in the life of the community.
