Abstract(s)
Antifungal agents are drugs widely used against several pathogens. These are included in treatments for both systemic and localized infections, as well as in prophylaxis of these infections, especially in immunocompromised patients. The success of these therapies is dependent on the effectiveness of the dose administe-red and the concentration of the agent in the body, which is associated with the safety and possible toxicity that comes from the administration of these types of agents. In this way, it is possible to use TDM to measure serum concentrations of antifungals and thus assess the need to change or not the dose administered in order to reduce potential ad-verse effects and minimize the appearance of resistances. This work gathers information about different therapies with azole antifungals and the possible application of TDM to evaluate them in different populations.
