O ensino da literatura compete fundamentalmente à disciplina de Português.
Esta, além de garantir o conhecimento reflexivo da língua, é a responsável pelo estudo
do patrimônio cultural que integra os alunos no universo da educação literária, desde o
1º ciclo até ao final do Ensino Secundário.
Ao pensarmos no enorme desafio que é ensinar literatura e na grande
responsabilidade dos docentes da área da língua materna, evidencia-se o interesse da
presente pesquisa. Procura-se estabelecer um diálogo entre a prática do professor de
Português e os Programas e Metas Curriculares que organizam o ensino da disciplina,
nos quais o subgênero narrativo conto constitui um recurso didático no cotidiano
escolar. O estudo revela, numa perspectiva histórica, a construção do conceito de conto
como subgênero literário e de que forma este pode dar o seu contributo para o ensino da
literatura.
Com base nos programas para os referidos ciclos de ensino, a pesquisa ressalta
ainda a importância dos domínios da Oralidade, da Leitura e da Educação Literária, ao
apontar objetivos diversos como, entre outros: a criação do gosto pela leitura; a
criatividade na escrita de textos em prosa; e a transformação da oralidade em texto
literário.
Desta forma, a pesquisa procura trazer contribuições para os professores de
Português / Língua Portuguesa, que, ao trabalharem a língua como um bem patrimonial,
possam através de sua expressão mais sublime — a Literatura— fazer com que o
subgênero conto aproxime seus alunos do universo prazeroso que é o literário.
The literature teaching fundamentally is the responsibility of the Portuguese discipline. This discipline, in addition to ensure the reflective knowledge of the language, is responsible for the study of cultural heritage that integrates students into the world of literary education from the 1st grade to the end of High School. When we think of the enormous challenge of teaching literature and the great responsibility of teaching the mother tongue, it is evident the importance of this research. It aims to establish a dialogue between Portuguese teacher practice, and Programs and Curriculum Goals that organize the teaching of the discipline in which the narrative genre short story is a teaching tool in everyday school life. This research addresses, through a historical perspective, the construction of the short story concept as a literary genre and how it can make a contribution on the teaching of literature. Based on the programs for these levels of education, the research also highlights the importance of the concepts of Orality, Reading and Literary Education, pointing out several objectives including, among others: the creation of reading habits; creativity in writing prose; and the transformation of orality in literary text. Thus, the research seeks to bring contributions for teachers of Portuguese / Portuguese Language, which, by working the language as a heritage property, can through its most sublime expression - the Literature- make the genre short story get students closer to the pleasant universe of literature.
