Resumo(s)
O presente trabalho incide sobre o desenvolvimento de uma intervenção urbana e
arquitetónica no âmbito de uma casa senhorial.
Esta intervenção partirá de uma base de estudo e reflexão específica sobre o valor
da memória e o seu papel enquanto fator simbólico determinante na permanência e,
consequente reabilitação do património construído. A esta, acresce o estudo sobre o
papel do projeto como meio operativo de uma reabilitação sustentada. Para tal, será
objeto de estudo o panorama atual da freguesia de Vialonga e do aglomerado de
Alpriate, e mais especificamente o lugar de intervenção: a Quinta do Duque. Será com
base nestas premissas iniciais que a componente prática do trabalho irá desenvolver-se.
Com efeito, parte-se do pressuposto que a escolha do programa a construir, Escola de
Hotelaria e Turismo, hotel de aplicação e residência de estudantes, justifique e sustente
qualificadamente este património na atualidade.
No projeto em concreto, será levado a cabo um compromisso simbiótico entre as préexistências
e as novas construções, ou seja, um compromisso que salvaguarda o
património construído mas que possibilite a introdução de uma ideia contemporânea.
ABSTRACT: The present work is focused on the development of a urban and architectural solution for the rehabilitation of a manor house. This intervention is based on a study and reflection about the value of memory and it’s role as a symbolic factor, decisive in the proposed rehabilitation for the built heritage. In addition, we explore the role of architecture design as means to an end of a sustainable rehabilitation. To that end, this work will study the current panorama of the parish of Vialonga, the settlement of Alpriate and, more specifically, the site of the intervention: Quinta do Duque. It’s on these initial premises that the practical part of this work will be based, as well as from the assumption that the choice of the programme to be built, a Hospitality and Tourism school, a teaching hotel and a student residence justify and sustain this heritage building in the current days. The design project at hand will show a symbiotic relation between the existing construction and the new construction, in a relation of compromise that protects the built heritage but that allows the introduction of a contemporary idea.
