Abstract(s)
As ânforas assumem-se como uma categoria cerâmica de enorme relevância no
âmbito da caracterização das dinâmicas comerciais dos povoados. Face ao recente
avanço no estudo destes recipientes na área do estuário do Tejo, a abordagem ao
conjunto da Quinta do Almaraz (Almada), povoado estrategicamente localizado na foz
daquele rio, tornava-se indispensável.
Por ser um conjunto amplo, onde estão representados a maioria dos tipos que
presumivelmente se produziram no estuário do Tejo durante o 1º milénio a.n.e., o seu
estudo permitiu contribuir para a definição cronológica desta produção e
simultaneamente evidenciar as particularidades que marcaram a evolução dos
recipientes anfóricos na área. Possibilitou ainda uma análise à cronologia de Almaraz,
bem como compreender a dinâmica interna do povoado ao longo da Idade do Ferro.
Abstract: The amphorae have a huge relevance in the characterization of settlements commercial dynamics. Given the recent progress in the study of these containers in Tagus estuary, the approach to the set of Quinta do Almaraz (Almada), a settlement strategically located at the mouth of that river, became indispensable. Based on a wide range set, where most of the types presumably produced in Tagus estuary during the 1st Millennium B.C. are present, this study allowed a contribution to the chronological definition of this region’s production and simultaneously highlight the particularities that marked the evolution of the amphorae in this area. It also allowed an analysis of Almaraz's chronology, as well as understand the internal dynamic of the settlement throughout Iron Age.
