É a partir desta preocupação e elucidando o comprometimento
lugar, permitirão, a diferentes escalas, redesenhar
ABSTRACT: The exercise put forth arises from the restlessness and thinking of how, throughout the passage of time, the human being was able to stand apart from all the other living beings and natural elements that make up our planet. It is from the concern surrounding this subject, and clarifying the commitment of future generations, that, with grounds on philosophical thinking, it is sought to convey that Nature is everywhere and that us, the human beings, are an insignificant part of an overwhelming living system, with which we need and ought to coexist. Being aware of what we are as human beings, it is from the topographical condition of valley in the site of Xabregas, where it is present a post-industrial background, that the proposal, both at the urban and the built scale, will arise from the cohesion between us human beings and all the other elements that intrinsically form the territory. It is through this line of thought that the application of the five sustainability points is proposed – the localization, the passive design, the water, the materials and the energy. The idea of being able to coexist, in an area so close to the Lisbon centre, in articulation with the introduction of new uses, born to complement the site’s already existing activities, will allow to coherently redesign the territory at different levels, dynamizing new experiences that attract the population to make the most of the outdoors, while at the same time appealing to the natural functioning of the site.
