O presente estudo visa propor um centro de Investigação e Inovação, como equipamento público/privado, devido à destruição causada pelos incêndios consecutivos em Monchique, nomeadamente o de 2018. A motivação para esta proposta assenta na necessidade de preservação do património de Natureza existente, e na necessidade de devolver à vila a sua economia e tentar fixar e aumentar a sua população.
O local escolhido foi resultado de uma conjugação de várias características que permitem simultaneamente satisfazer a acessibilidade, a visibilidade e a harmonização com a envolvente natural, situando-se fora do centro da Vila, mas relativamente perto do Quartel dos Bombeiros, Heliporto, posto da GNR e proteção civil.
Para concretizar esta proposta, identificaram-se as consequências dos incêndios na Vila, na Natureza, na economia e na sua população. Posteriormente analisou-se a Vila, a Serra de Monchique em comparação com o Algarve.
A proposta arquitetónica permite estabelecer uma relação entre o edificado a população e a Natureza, aquilo que antevemos que possa ser o futuro naquela zona, proporcionando aos habitantes da Vila as condições de segurança e proteção, e também um espaço onde poderão melhorar os seus níveis de conhecimento e desenvolvimento económico.
Este equipamento, a concretizar-se, poderia afirmar-se como uma prioridade para a Vila de Monchique, pois se nada for feito o processo de abandono destes territórios poderá acentuar-se.
This study aims to propose a Research and Innovation center, as public/private equipment, due to the destruction caused by the consecutive fires in Monchique, namely the one in 2018. The motivation for this proposal is based on the need to preserve the existing Nature heritage, and the need to give back to the village its economy and try to fix and increase its population. The chosen location was the result of a combination of several characteristics that allow simultaneously satisfying the accessibility, visibility and harmonization with the natural surroundings, being located outside the center of the village, but relatively close to the Fire Brigade, Heliport, GNR station and civil protection. To materialize this proposal, the consequences of the fires on the town, on Nature, on the economy and on its population were identified. Afterwards, the village and the Monchique mountains were analyzed in comparison with the Algarve. The architectural proposal allows us to establish a relationship between the built environment, the population and nature, what we foresee could be the future in that area, providing the inhabitants of the village with safety and protection conditions, and also a space where they can improve their levels of knowledge and economic development. If this equipment is built, it could become a priority for the town of Monchique, because if nothing is done, the process of abandonment of these areas could be accentuated.
