Digital surveys are a key method for gathering data. Their application spans various contexts, from national censuses, which provide a comprehensive overview of the population and its living conditions, to surveys conducted by companies to gather clients’ feedback on the services provided. Despite their acknowledged usefulness, the existing literature still highlights the inaccessibility of surveys for people with disabilities. That said, the objective of this dissertation is to develop a survey completion tool that considers the accessibility barriers and requirements identified in the literature. To this end, we began by compiling the necessary requirements for building accessible digital surveys, obtained through a literature review. These requirements were then implemented in a survey completion tool, which was tested by people with disabilities to assess its accessibility. The tool was then refined based on the problems detected, improvement suggestions, and positive aspects identified during the tests. Finally, the following conclusions were drawn. Firstly, it was noted that the survey completion tool developed is, in a general way, accessible for people with different abilities. Secondly, the list of requirements gathered can be used as a guide to promote accessibility for people with different abilities when completing surveys. Thirdly, enabling users to select which accessibility functionalities they want to be available when completing a survey can contribute to a more accessible and user-friendly interface. Future work should involve testing the tool, after further refinements, with a larger sample of people with disabilities. In addition, it is also important to evaluate the usefulness and accessibility of both existing and newly added features, particularly those that allow for personalization of the survey interface. Also, creation of surveys in the tool by people with disabilities should be tested. Furthermore, the list of requirements should be continuously updated to reflect technological advancements and evolving accessibility standards.en
