dc.description.abstractEste artigo analisa o impacto da Inteligência Artificial (IA) no mercado de trabalho e nas relações laborais. A IA está a transformar profundamente mundo do trabalho e se, por um lado, pode aumentar a produtividade e melhorar a qualidade do emprego, também apresenta riscos como o desemprego tecnológico, a intensificação do trabalho e a vigilância constante dos trabalhadores. A IA tem o potencial de substituir tanto atividades rotineiras como funções cognitivas, exacerbando as desigualdades entre economias desenvolvidas e em desenvolvimento. Aborda-se a legislação recente da União Europeia, incluindo o Regulamento Europeu sobre Inteligência Artificial e a Diretiva sobre a melhoria das condições de trabalho nas plataformas digitais que tentam equilibrar a promoção da IA com a proteção dos direitos dos trabalhadores, introduzindo medidas de transparência, supervisão humana e proteção contra discriminação. Em conclusão, o artigo sugere que o futuro do trabalho não é o seu fim, mas uma transformação contínua que exigirá uma regulamentação adaptativa para proteger os trabalhadores e garantir que a IA seja utilizada de forma ética e responsável.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThis article analyses the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the labour market and labour relations. AI is profoundly transforming the world of work and while it can increase productivity and improve job quality, it poses risks such as technological unemployment, labour intensification and constant surveillance of workers. AI has the potential to replace both routine activities and cognitive functions, exacerbating inequalities between developed and developing economies. Recent European Union legislation is addressed, including the European Regulation on Artificial Intelligence and the Directive on improving working conditions on digital platforms, which attempt to balance the promotion of AI with the protection of workers' rights by introducing transparency measures, human supervision and protection against discrimination. In conclusion, the article suggests that the future of work is not its end, but a continuous transformation that will require adaptive regulation to protect workers and ensure that AI is used ethically and responsibly.pt_PT
