O efeito mediador da auto-eficácia empreendedora na relação entre o locus de controlo interno e a intenção empreendedora

Com este estudo pretende-se investigar a possibilidade de uma relação entre o locus de controlo interno e a intenção empreendedora, e em que medida esta relação é mediada pela auto-eficácia empreendedora. Pressupôs-se que o locus de controlo interno influencia positivamente a intenção empreendedora, e que a relação entre os dois é mediada pela auto-eficácia empreendedora. Estas hipóteses foram testadas através da aplicação de um questionário a uma amostra 207 sujeitos. De modo a testar as hipóteses utilizou-se os procedimentos sugeridos por Preacher & Hayes (2004). Os resultados obtidos suportam as hipóteses iniciais, verificando-se uma relação positiva significativa entre o locus de controlo interno e a intenção empreendedora e confirma-se também a existência de uma mediação total da auto-eficácia empreendedora na relação entre o locus de controlo interno e a intenção empreendedora.
This study investigates the possibility of a relationship between an internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intentions, and to what extent the relationship is mediated by entrepreneurial self-efficacy. It was assumed that the internal locus of control influences entrepreneurial intentions, and that the relationship between them is mediated by entrepreneurial self-efficacy. These hypothesis were tested through the application of an inventory to a sample of 207 subjects. To test these hypothesis, the procedures suggested by Preacher & Hayes (2008) were used. The results indicate that the initial hypothesis were corroborated, with a significant positive relationship between the Internal Locus of Control and Entrepreneurial Intentions; it is also confirmed the existence of a full mediation of Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy in the relationship between the Internal Locus of Control and Entrepreneurial Intentions.
