Cultural mediation, in a museological context, can be developed through various proposals and formats. Its main goal is to educate audiences on their professional mission by which the entity is administered. Hence, the cultural mediators will find themselves as an interface between the museum and the public, being its educational proposal in accordance with the educational objectives of the institution. Cultural mediation can currently be operated through guided tours, workshops, one or various exhibiting objects, or through the knowledge and experience of the visitor. All these means of working and exploring links between the museological institution/ expository context and the audience, depart from the framework of the cultural mediator. Furthermore, the cultural mediator, himself, and his work can be inserted into the format and goals of outlined mediation. Visual artists frequently collaborate with museological institutions to develop their education offer, allowing it to bring a new context or view on the expository themes to the table. Considering the role of the visual artist as an educational mediator, the educational program Plano de Ação was created in collaboration with five artists and the Casa-Museu Medeiros e Almeida. Its main objective was, from a new perspective, to raise questions and ways of reading the exhibition space and the collection, through different typologies and considering the context of the museum and the historical spaces in which it is inserted. The collaborative work between cultural institutions and visual artists is a way to enhance and provide the public and, simultaneously, the institution with new ways of reading and of relation between the exhibition space and collections
