Among all the habitats protected by the European Community, the coastal ones are the most vulnerable, since their survival is based on a fragile dynamic equilibrium between morphological and ecological factors, which in turn are heavily threatened by anthropic actions. The project, carried out in collaboration with the Centro Conservazione Biodiversità (CCB) at Cagliari University, is compliant with the general guidelines of the Habitats Directive and Natura 2000 Network, which are optimal tools for drafting environmental policies for preservation of biodiversity. For this reason, the main purpose of this dissertation is the application of reactivation and maintenance initiatives, in order to find solutions to preserve and protect the dunal systems of the SIC "ITB040020", while allowing the use of beaches and increasing environmental awareness towards local landscapes. Apart from the fulfillment of reactivation and maintenance initiatives, it is fundamental to increase consciousness of local inhabitants and tourists who use this area during the summer time
