Cada vez mais os arquitetos veem-se na impossibilidade de construir o novo. As cidades estão construídas, porém nunca param de evoluir e de sofrer mutações.
A reabilitação do edificado permite isto mesmo. Contribuir para o palimpsesto de uma cidade, ser uma parte da sua evolução, da sua transição natural, ao invés do corte e começo de novo, algo que que aconteceu durante muitos séculos.
Aproveitar as imperfeições da evolução enaltecendo-as e reconhecendo-as como parte integrante da cidade e do edifício na sua atualidade.
Esta intervenção tem em vista isto mesmo. Reabilitar um edifício em desuso, dar-lhe uma nova função, tendo em conta todas as imperfeições que o tempo lhe trouxe e integrando-as nesta reconversão.
ABSTRACT: Nowadays, more than ever, architects face themselves with the impossibility of building the new. Cities are already built, nonetheless they are ever changing and never stop evolving. The rehabilitation of the built allows exactly this. Contributing for the palimpsest of a city, being part of its evolution, of its natural transition, instead of going back to square one, building something completely new, something that has happened for centuries. Making use of the imperfections of evolution, empowering them and recognizing them as an integral part of the city on this day and age. This intervention has exactly that in its sights. To rehabilitate a building in disuse, giving it a new purpose, considering all the imperfections that time has given it and integrating them in this renovation.
