Abstract(s)
O Jogo do
O Retrato desenhado do natural possibilita
This Supervised Teaching Practice Report, developed within the scope of the Master in Teaching Visual Arts at the Universidade de Lisboa, is the result of the teaching intervention experience on the Didactic Unit “Guess Who? The Portrait Game”, project aimed at an 11th grade of the Scientific-Humanistic Course of Visual Arts, at Escola Secundária de Odivelas, within the Drawing (Desenho A) course. Currently, the School assumes a multicultural face through which the visibility of differences deserves to be seen as an enriching challenge. With the implementation of this Didactic Unit, we intend to celebrate diversity through the construction of a collaborative game. From life observation drawings, students will be asked to make several graphic records of their colleague's portrait in which they express their physical and psychological characterization. The sequence of these exercises will enable the construction of a board game “Guess Who?” and the sharing of new awareness about Portrait Drawing and its graphic construction. Drawing the human figure is one of the most recurring themes in Art, from Antiquity to the present day. Portrait Drawing from life allows students to develop fully developing technical dexterity and the essential foundations of observational drawing and enabling their understanding on how they see themselves and how they are seen by others. So, when approaching the Portrait exercise using life observation drawing and the engraving technique, we seek to characterize an important facet of the students' identity that will allow the detection of the more or less differentiated cultural nuances. The achieved results led the students to understanding both the importance of promoting critical thinking and the potential of an artistic object as a strategic vehicle for public intervention. Also, they allowed them to observe the positive impact that the ludic dimension and cooperative learning have on the acquisition of significant learning.
