This research aims to study the perceived career barriers and satisfaction with life roles by comparing men and women of heterosexual couples. The sample consists of 53 couples (n = 106) aged between 19 to 58 years. Data were collected through the Inventory Perception of Career Barriers - Revised (IPCB-R) and Satisfaction Scale with Life Roles (ESPV). The results allow us to conclude that there are no significant correlations between the perception of barriers in career and satisfaction with life roles among the members of the couple. It was also found that none of the IPBC-R dimensions impacts the ESPV, and that there are only significant differences between the couple's answers with regard to the difficulties socializing/networking and sexual and racial discrimination. There was also no difference between men and women with regard to the perception of barriers in career based on age and profession. With regard to educational level, the differences occur only at the level of individual mentality for male participants. Regarding to satisfaction with life roles, only significant differences were found in satisfaction with family for men. At the end, are discussed the contributions of this study to the practice and management of human resources, their limitations and possible future research lines.
