sobre a origem dos vazios urbanos e a possibilidade destes se regenerarem numa nova centralidade. Acresce o estudo sobre o processo de regeneração sócio-urbana, através das políticas de sustentabilidade social e da reconversão do património industrial. O Vale de Chelas surge como objeto de estudo para uma intervenção ao nível urbano e arquitetónico na cidade de Lisboa, focando-se a análise teórica também nas componentes históricas e sociais que estiveram na origem do panorama atual do vale.
A componente prática do trabalho incide na aplicação e resolução dos conceitos teóricos através do desenho de um parque urbano no Vale de Chelas, que procure restituir as valências naturais e arquitetónicas deste, tendo como princípios a valorização do meio ambiente e do património industrial.
Surge assim a reconversão da antiga Fábrica da Tinturaria Portugália num novo centro comunitário e cultural, e a conceção de um fórum ocupacional para a população sem abrigo. A proposta pretende valorizar tanto o património industrial, como os diferentes estratos sociais da população do Vale de Chelas, procurando reunir dois programas que auxiliem o crescimento e a reintegração social da população local na cidade de Lisboa.
ABSTRACT: In Do Vazio ao Centro do Vale it is tried to develop a study base on the origin of the urban voids and the possibility of these to regenerate in a new centrality. In addition, the study on the socio-urban regeneration process, through policies of social sustainability and the reconversion of industrial heritage. The Chelas Valley emerges as an object of study for an intervention at the urban and architectural level in the city of Lisbon, focusing on the theoretical analysis also on the historical and social components that were the origin of the current panorama of the valley. The practical component of the work focuses on the application and resolution of theoretical concepts through the design of an urban park in the Chelas Valley, which seeks to restore its natural and architectural valences, based on the valuation of the environment and the industrial heritage. This has led to the conversion of the former Fábrica da Tinturaria Portugália into a new community and cultural center and the design of an occupational forum for the homeless population. The proposal intends to value both the industrial heritage and the different social strata of the population of the Chelas Valley, seeking to bring together two programs that help the growth and social reintegration of the local population in the city of Lisbon.
