Abstract(s)
Enquadrado na paisagem da Ilha do Príncipe, este Projeto Final de Mestrado
visa reforçar a identidade e memória da mesma, assim como dar a conhecer
a sua história e despertar para a proteção do seu vasto património natural e
arquitetónico.
A intervenção na cidade de Santo António, capital desta ilha, assenta na
requalificação viária e organizacional da cidade procurando dispor de maneira ordenada
o espaço público, equipamentos e serviços da mesma, onde se dará enfase
à proposta de um Centro Interpretativo da Ilha do Príncipe.
O (re)desenho da cidade com aplicação de uma estratégia pontual, uma
acupuntura urbana assim como as propostas a nível da habitação e equipamento
teve em conta não só o modo de habitar dos seus residentes, mas também a
necessidade de articulação entre áreas formais e informais, atualmente muito
marcantes.
ABSTRACT: Set in the landscape of Príncipe Island, this Final Master Project aims to reinforce its identity and memory, as well as make known its history and awaken to the protection of its vast natural heritage, considered unique. The intervention in the city of Santo António, capital, rests on the road and organizational requalification of the city, seeking to dispose in an orderly way the public space, equipment and services of the same, where emphasis will be placed on the proposal of an Interpretive Center of Príncipe Island. The (re) design of the city with the application of this urban acupuncture as well as the proposals on housing and equipment took into account not only the residents’ way of living, but also the need for articulation between formal and informal areas, currently much striking.
