Este relatório de estágio tem como objectivo a descrição e análise do
trabalho de tradução de manuais de segurança, que foi realizado no Instituto
Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna (ISCPSI), em Lisboa, no
âmbito do estágio do Mestrado em Tradução. Em particular, para além da
tradução propriamente dita de um dos manuais, reflecte-se sobre alguns
problemas que surgiram e a forma como os mesmos foram solucionados.
O relatório está dividido em três capítulos. O primeiro capítulo é
dedicado à caracterização do estágio, nomeadamente à forma como o mesmo
decorreu, bem como à apresentação da entidade de acolhimento e dos textos
traduzidos.
No segundo capítulo, apresento aquilo que é a tradução sob a
perspectiva de vários autores, focando-me na teoria do skopos, na teoria da
equivalência e na teoria funcionalista.
No terceiro e último capítulo deste relatório, apresento e analiso
algumas questões que surgiram durante a realização da tradução,
nomeadamente de origem lexical e sintáctica. Estas questões são sempre
ilustradas com exemplos retirados das traduções, acompanhados da
justificação da tradução.
This report aims at describing and analyzing the work developed during the internship held at Instituto Superior de Ciências Policiais e Segurança Interna, in Lisbon, in the context of the MA in translation. Besides the translation of one manual on safety, we present some problems that have arisen during the work and discuss some strategies to solve them. This report is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the internship’s characterization, namely how it went along, the host entity, and the translated texts. The second chapter presents a general discussion on translation, focusing on the skopos theory, the theory of equivalence and the functionalist theory. In the third and final chapter of this report, I analyze some issues that came across during the translation work, with special reference to lexical and syntactic questions. These issues are always illustrated with examples collected from the translated texts along with the justification of my translation choices.
