trabalho verdadeiramente inclusivo e equitativo.
The present dissertation addresses the integration of people with disabilities into the labour market, highlighting the role of Human Resource Management (HRM) in this process. The inclusion of individuals with disabilities in organizations presents a multifaceted challenge, involving the overcoming of physical, cultural, and social barriers. The study explores how HRM policies and practices can facilitate inclusion, promoting not only organizational benefits but also greater social justice and equity. The research adopts a qualitative approach, through the conduction of semi-structured interviews with people with disabilities, aiming to understand their experiences of professional integration or reintegration. Among the main topics addressed are perceptions regarding the need for workplace adaptations, the availability of support and resources, as well as the differences in experiences between those born with disabilities and those who acquired disabilities later in life. The results indicate that well-planned HRM practices, including inclusive recruitment processes, appropriate adaptations, and ongoing awareness programs, are essential to fostering a truly inclusive and equitable work environment.
