Cenários de aprendizagem inovadores com utilização de tecnologias móveis : um projeto no 3º ciclo do ensino básico numa turma de percursos curriculares alternativos

Nos últimos anos temos assistido a um amplo desenvolvimento tecnológico dos
dispositivos móveis, acompanhado de uma marcada diminuição do seu custo o que os
tornou acessíveis à grande maioria dos estudantes de hoje, independentemente do
seu estatuto socio-económico. Esses equipamentos fornecem atualmente aos seus
utilizadores, um leque alargado de funcionalidades, amplificadas pelo acesso à
internet e pela possibilidade de instalação de diversas apps disponíveis online.
Os adolescentes de hoje, por associarem os seus dispositivos móveis ao entretimento
e interação social, raramente se apercebem dos poderosos equipamentos que
carregam nos seus bolsos. Mas não são só os alunos, também a maioria das escolas
e dos professores têm dificuldade em compreender e tirar proveito dos dispositivos
móveis para as suas próprias atividades de ensino.
Tomando consciência da relevância que estes equipamentos assumem hoje para os
estudantes, foi desenvolvido um projeto de utilização de tecnologias móveis com um
conjunto de 13 alunos de uma turma de Percursos Curriculares Alternativos, do 3º
ciclo do ensino básico. Este projeto envolveu o design e implementação de cenários
de aprendizagem que foram planificados tendo em conta o toolkit do Future Classroom
Lab. Este estudo teve assim como objetivo observar e avaliar o impacto da utilização
dos dispositivos móveis dos alunos, enquanto ferramenta de suporte à
aprendizagems, tanto pela perspetiva dos alunos como dos docentes envolvidos no
projeto durante o ano letivo 2015/2016.
A análise dos dados obtidos após a implementação do projeto permitiu concluir que se
registaram favoráveis modificações na conceções dos alunos acerca do valor
associado à utilização deste tipo de equipamentos em contexto de sala de aula. A
apreciação dos docentes revelou-se igualmente positiva.
In recent years we have witnessed a broad technological evolution of mobile devices that allows relatively low cost access to this type of equipment, making them accessible to the vast majority of todays' students, regardless of their socio-economic status. These devices provide its users with a wide range of functionalities, amplified by the internet access and the possibility of installing several other mobile applications. Students associate their mobile devices to entertainment and social interaction, are rarely aware of the powerful equipment they carry out in their pockets. But it’s not only our teens who do not realize the potential of this equipment, most schools and teachers have difficulties in understanding and taking advantage of mobile devices of support their teaching activities. Being aware of the importance that mobile devices have for todays’ students, a project using mobile technology was developed with a class of 13 students of ‘Percursos curriculares alternativos’- 3rd cycle. This project involved the design and implementation of learning scenarios that have been planned taking into account the Future Classroom Lab toolkit. This study had the aim of observing and assessing the impact of the use of students’ mobile phones as tools for learning support, through the perspective of both students and teachers involved in the project during the 2015/2016 school year. The analysis of the data provided the conclusion that favorable changes ocurred in students conceptions about the pedagogical value of such devices in the classroom context. Teachers’ assessment of the project was also positive .
