This report corresponds to the Supervised Teaching Practice, developed within the framework of the Master's in Visual Arts Education for the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and Secondary Education. Having been carried out in a 12th-grade class of the Scientific-Humanistic Course in Visual Arts at the 'Arco-Íris' Secondary School of Portela, in the Drawing A subject, it describes and reflects on the implemented Didactic Unit entitled "Poetry is in the ..." classroom! The Didactic Unit, marking the 50th anniversary of April 25, 1974, aimed to promote reflection and the acquisition of knowledge about cultural, artistic, and social aspects in the revolutionary period in Portugal, with a view to the formation of a more consolidated democratic conscience and, considering the multiplicity of possible approaches in the Drawing A subject. To this end, ways of doing that evoke Portuguese poetic experimentalism were used, contextualizing it in the revolutionary period and visually exploring the relationship between image and word in the representations produced. These two lines guided the work developed, establishing interdisciplinary connections with Citizenship and Development and History of Culture and Arts, from a constructivist and interactionist perspective of learning. Through the research methodology considered most appropriate for the study in question, the research on the practice, carried out within the interpretive paradigm of a qualitative approach, the objective, guiding questions were formulated, and the most appropriate data collection instruments were established. Reflecting on the information collected through mixed questionnaires with open and closed-ended questions, the participant observation carried out throughout the implementation and recorded in the field journal, the evaluation processes applied, and the works produced by the students, it is considered that the initially proposed objectives were globally achieved, although some gaps are identified due to weaknesses and resistances manifested throughout the development of the Didactic Unit.
