Resumo(s)
The present study is based on a theoretical/bibliographic research, having as a
main goal the analysis of the awareness of the body through plastic experience.
The object of this study is characterised by focusing on a specific target group:
people with disability, with a particular emphasis on people with cerebral palsy.
Defining the question “Can plastic experience help people with disability to
build a consciousness?” as a starting point, this paper tries to enlighten the
relationship between the body and plastic experience, as well as the role that
this same experience can play in the education and construction of the
individual. Questions such as the place of the body (the body with disability) in
society, how it is built (inside the society in which it is included), and its
relationship with the plastic/artistic/aesthetic experience are the main points to
retain in this paper. This study aims to draw attention to the importance of plastic arts in the daily routine of an individual with a motor disability and in the construction of the individual (at a social level as well as at a personal one).
