Este estudo apresenta conceitos e métodos de gestão do risco, inserido no contexto do sistema de gestão de pequenas e médias empresas (PME) portuguesas. Expõe alguns conceitos sobre risco e gestão do risco, utilizados e normalizados internacionalmente, nomeadamente pelas metodologias da International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 31000 e das metodologias do Committee of Sponsoring Oganizations of the Treadway Comission (COSO). Foi desenvolvida uma matriz de risco como forma de ampliar a visibilidade e melhor tratamento dos riscos numa PME, onde se apresentam possíveis cenários de risco na empresa Aires Fernandes de Almeida Lda. O estudo compreende as etapas de identificação dos riscos, analisando o seu possível impacto nos objectivos estratégicos da organização e prevendo a probabilidade da sua ocorrência, de modo a determinar a melhor forma de gerir a exposição aos mesmos, concluindo com a importância da gestão de risco nas PME, para que se destaquem no mercado.
This study presents concepts and methods of risk management, inserted into the context of the Portuguese small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) management system. It outlines some concepts on risk and risk management, internationally used and normalized, namely by the methodologies of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 31000 and the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO). A risk matrix was developed as a way to improve the analysis and the treatment of risks in a SME, where possible risk scenarios are presented in the company Aires Fernandes de Almeida Lda. The study comprises the steps of risk identification, analysis of their possible impact on the strategic objectives of the organization and the prediction of the likelihood of their occurrence, in order to determine the best way to manage the exposure to them, concluding with the importance of risk management in SMEs.
